Let me guess: back in the day, even men used to wear those one-piece swimsuits that look like the ones women wear today. As for Roman laundry, it must’ve taken a lot of drinks to get a wash basin filled. As for baby sawfish, no comment.

Urine was collected and left out to sit for a few days. Over time it turned to ammonia.

Rumor has it that Cleopatra would rinse her mouth out with urine to keep her teeth white.

The men probably said, “We’ll do it if you will”. Can’t say I blame them.

Many soldiers throughout history used to pee on each others’ feet to inhibit foot diseases and odor.

Women on Atlantic City Beach were topless in 1935?

I knew about using urine in the tanning process, though not any of the rest. Curiously enough though, urinating on a blade would remove any poisons coating it. I read one incident where someone considered it insulting, since it implied he would poison his blades.

I’m sure the topless men and women were influenced by the 1934 movie, Tarzan and his Mate, with Johnny Weismuller and Maureen O’Hara (and her body double, Olympic swimmer Josephine McKim)

This movie reestablished the Hays Code (largely ignored during the Depression), which eventually became the MPAA we have today.

I read, somewhere, that the Scots soaked dyed yarn in urine to set the colors. I’m sure they also washed the stuff afterwards ( I hope ).

Laundering with urine is fine, if you like yellow clothes!

So, if someone said “Piss on you!” They were just making an observation?
