Is Obama’s comment a lie? Well its a complex issue with many sides. Insurance companies have always been modifying conditions when the contract expires – every year there is turnover and the client has no choice. Can you blame Obama for that? Some insurance companies are pulling out of some markets and consolidating in others. The customer has no choice. Can you blame Obama for that? Some contracts are junk and need to be changed. Can you blame Obama for that? In the heat of campaigns a lot is said, some of which may not be fully qualified with caveats. Happens to both sides. Are these not foregivable offenses? Do people really want to quibble about the largely irrelevant and hope for failure when 44,000 people are dying every year of treatable conditions because they cannot afford health care? .No I wouldn’t call Obama’s comment a lie. What I would call a lie is when the Republicans in the 2010 mid-terms vowed they would focus like a laser on jobs, jobs, jobs. They never intended to focus on creating jobs and they knew it when they said it. That was a lie. In fact the last thing they wanted was more jobs. Rather they wanted failure they could blame on Obama.
Heard another interview with Cheney yesterday in which he said the present healthcare system is the best and the envy of the world. I almost fell off my Lazy Boy. He should just shut up and go fishing.
You give him way too much credit. This division has been decades in the making, with encouragement from all sides. Special kudos to special-interest-one-issue lobbyists and professional inflammatory entities.
The godfather of enmity politics was Lee Atwater. At least he admitted to it on his deathbed and showed contrition. I look forward to see whether the same epiphany will happen to Karl Rove. Anyone who earns the nickname “turdblossom” from a FRIEND is truly special.
President Obama did something to improve the lives of Americans. Where or what is the republican plan? Oh, that’s right, don’t get sick, and if you do, die quickly. And, the emergency room at the local hospital where cost of care is much higher, partially because the patient waited until the pain was unbearable. I don’t like the republican plan. AGAIN, President Obama has done something to improve lives of Americans; while the republicans have espoused hatred, lies, selfishness, greed and the greatest transference of wealth from the majority to the 1%. While President Obama is not perfect, he is hugely better than romoney or mccain.
