“3 Posts and he says nothing.”

Watch out for the “pot and kettle” thing. It’s easy to dismiss another’s points; it’s another thing to address them intellectually.

My statement was hyperbole, over the top. But, it is essentially true. Obama ignored immigration law with his “Dreamer” executive order. As distasteful as you might find the situation those children are in their situation as a result of the criminal act(s) of their parents. As for “…irrational hatred…” I have no such thing towards illigal / criminal entrants and immigrants. Given the facts on that population as a whole there is every reason to reject wanting them to become legal residents, let alone citizens..These are some of those facts:.Approxmately two thirds have an 8th grade or less education. They are twice as likely to go to prison for a felony as legal citizens. They are 70% more likely to have gotten there for a violent crime. The gender distribution is approxmately 60 – 40 Male – Female. They are more likely to suffer from serious diseases or have a communicable one like TB.The average illegal has been caught more than one time entering the country and has on average been arrested for 7 serious crimes aside from illegal entry..Many have few useful job skills beyond basic labor..That doesn’t sound like a population we need in the US for any purpose.

‘toon related: “W” did nothing for many of our translators in both Afghanistan AND Iraq who needed to “clear out” after helping our troops (including my son). I saw the same problem four decades ago in ’Nam. But apparently Joshua didn’t “off” the hooker who let his men in to open the gates to Jericho?

Illegal aliens are guilty of a crime: crossing the border without permission. Anyone who gets a speeding ticket is also guilty of a crime. Each should pay for his crime. The question is, what should the penalty be? Expulsion for the one, no matter how long they’ve been, how much this has become their home, no matter what they have contributed to the country, no matter how squeaky clean their records have been since they’ve been here? “The law’s the law.” Well, then, if you violate the traffic laws, you should be barred from driving for life. Perhaps you should not even be permitted to ride in a car. Or maybe you should go to prison. After all, you broke the law! “The law’s the law.” What part of illegal do you not understand? Why shouldn’t you go to jail for driving illegally? Or just maybe a lesser punishment is enough. Just because you ONLY had to pay a fine for speeding does not mean that you received amnesty. Just because the penalty you pay for crossing the border without permission, or staying longer than you had permission to stay (many illegal immigrants enter the country legally) is less than expulsion, does not mean you’ve received amnesty. But this line of reasoning is too … what? … subtle? … complex? … for some folks.
