    Not big on stuffing, candied yams, or cranberry sauce myself. But I love roast turkey, and mashed potatoes, and roast potatoes, and turkey gravy. :) Love thanskgiving dinner, even if we have it in October here in Canada.

    I just boil and mash my yams. Add a bit of milk, butter and cinnamon and that’s it. I don’t go much for making them taste like dessert. It’s too fibrous to eat a lot of them anyway.

    They’re Anglo soul food, eaten to honor ancestors who had to eat it (cf Scandinavians and lutefisk).
