Our little subdivision is pretty spread out. The kids are not dumb. Why come to ours when they can go to the next one and hit twice as many houses in the same time?
Dressing up and having parties is fun, but ‘trick or treating’, in my eyes, is iniquitous. It encourages children to be demanding and greedy and then selfish with their booty. It is also unsafe, when for the rest of the year they are taught not to approach strangers.
My kids actually like getting the spare change so they can go buy what they want. They don’t get an allowance right now because things are tight with me being in school.
