Arlo and Janis is one of my favorite strips, but this one made me laugh more than any of them have in quite a while.

What I want to know is what type of web sites Arlo visits so the skimming/listening software can identify him as qualified potential for purchasing lederhosen. He said he googled “Oktobertfest”, but then the lederhosen ad was on all the web sites.

Then I can avoid them.

Ads? I never see any ads here. I just use google chrome with adblock and ghostery extentions, and block pop-ups in Chrome advanced settings. I don’t even see ads in youtube.

But you typed l********* and O********** into a web forum – you’re already doomed….

Ah, yes. Leather short shorts with shoulder straps and no more. Dare ya, Johnson. Double dare ya. Do it. Do it. (Actually, I expect he will, but in typical cartoonist fashion, it will be from the rear, or some sort of prop will “conveniently” be in the critical visual path.)((Of course, here we are, lusting after a cartoon character. But imagination is a powerful thing.))

I developed a blind spot for the ads years ago. I can still tell that they’re there, and I have the choice to follow them or ignore them.

I’ve used AdBlock for years, too. The ads didn’t bother me so much when they first started appearing all those years ago, but then they started moving and blinking, and then I found AdBlock. I hear they have sound now, but I wouldn’t know.

Oh, Arlo. You’re gone and done it now.

two words: AdBlock Plus. It is a wonderful thing. Install it and omit the ads painlessly.
