Average cut $36/mo. Average income of those who qualify: $8800, or about $4.25/hr (assuming you are able bodied and can get a job, so roughly an extra day a month to fill the gap.

Well … yes, that’s the problem. However, I wouldn’t call it any kind of capitalism at all. What it is is government supported (on the taxpayer’s wallet) industrial monopolies.
Things might improve if we could start calling a spade a ‘spade’.
When I see the usual comments about welfare moochers not willing to take a job I have to stop and think that this person has never been out in the real world where people actually look for jobs. All they’re dong is parroting Rushbo/Beck, et al. I guarantee you that person has never ever spoken to an unemployed person on welfare. I spent the last 8 years working in what used to be called the unemployment office but is now called a one-stop career center. I spend my days working with those kind of people helping them find jobs They work just as hard at finding a job as most of us do at our jobs. The only people who ever turn jobs down are those who were used to making lots of money and were not willing to take a step down. I challenge those commenters to go spend an afternoon at a one stop career center talking to the unemployed, then come back and tell us what they discovered.

He’s a troll. He most likely writes his posts to irritate others rather than participate in a reasoned discussion. Just flag him.

Right! Let’s repeal the child labor laws and put those 10-year-old moochers to work. Ah, that’s sarcasm for all you literalists.

“Please, libs on welfare here explain how you can’t work an hour or 2 a month to make up for your loss.”
Why do you think anyone posting here is on welfare?

“Time to move on from the 18th century.”
Sure would be nice to see that. It would be a good start of various issues we are being continuously hammered about. A functional start even.
