I work for a telco. They have thousands of miles of fibre all over Europe. I know I don’t manage any equipment that monitors traffic in this way but I cannot for sure say there isn’t any equipment on this fibre network. I asked our transmissions colleagues and they’re looked blankly at me. As far as we know, we don’t facilitate access…:-s
We do have a forensics team. Their manager is a former MI5 employee. I should ask him but I’m afraid to. :-S In fact, he’s probably already read this. :-s :-s
