Every occupation and trade has their own specialty knowledge. Back at Zenith I often dealt with the head of a department in design phase of specially equipped experimental rooms I designed. Rather amusing for myself, never having achieved any degree, to be explaining relative air pressures, psychrometrics or such to these big shots with their PHDs but I had to do the practical aspects of removing noxious vapors, or controlling humidity for test condition extremes, or filtering air and preventing contaminants.
Later on, that worked for me in hospital work as well (although I found that many hospitals still value their bottom line over patient safety). IE An isolation room should NOT be reversible (if used at any time by those who need to be protected from contamination, should not also be used for the extremely contagious – try to TELL them).
