That was a 5 second problem, usually they throw in some addition. In the 80s my mother was the person who made up a lot of these math problems for contests.

I have noticed in the past the Tim Horton coffee roll up the rim has printed on the bottom of the cup that Canadians have to take a test when winning this explains it now
