Didn’t read THAT book of the Bible.If in fact you meant that religious belief in God figured into it, well, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Madison, and Washington might disagree. They felt, in fact, that the separation of Church and State was crucial to true freedom, and NO religion should have pride of place. (Jefferson, Franklin, and Washington were Deists.)An atheist forced to acknowledge God by a government is a violation of the Separation Clause, the same way that ANY American being forced to acknowledge the Jewish God, the Catholic God, a Protestant God, or the Islamic God by government is a violation. Period.There is no “war on Christmas,” unless by greedy Christians.Do you know that the Founders seriously considered making Hebrew the official language of the US? How would you feel about that?Or turn it around: if you went to a conservative Muslim country, you would have to follow Muslim rules — no alcohol, no business during prayer times or during the day in Ramadan, etc. — and that is exactly the way that non-Christians feel in our country when they are obligated to “pray in schools” or see crucifixes. More like President Tantrum Pants only wanted his way or the highway and didn’t give a damn what it did to the American people or who it hurt. In fact the extras he gave us during the shut down (manning UN-manned National Park monuments and closing off private residences on leasehold federal land and not allowing private businesses operating on federal roads/land) show us with absolute clarity that he was wanting this to HURT the American populace with as much pain as possible (given what he could do).
