I got a couple of kitties last year. They had been born in, and lived in, a field, (just a couple weeks..). before being rescued and cared for.. They prefer to do there business outside. I never have to change the kitty litter…..And I’m cool with that..

I think he means “I assume”, but he’s too sleepy to speak clearly. (My youngest, who is 47, still tells me she has to run some “errors”.

I’d as soon as.. my family uses that expression as a shortened version of another comparison. such as… I’d as soon as sleep with a skunk than you when you have used that kitty litter. maybe it’s a southern thing, but I got it!

Must be a Southern “thing” for I knew what he meant!

I’m a Southern thing, and my family used that expression all the time.

Around here people often say “I’d just as soon….” so I suspect that Jimmy forgot the “just” – when you’re hand lettering a cartoon it IS easy to drop a word or letter. Done it myself plenty of times.

I use horse bedding sawdust pellets from thr feed store for kitty litter. It’s cheaper, lasts longer, is more absorbent, and never smells, unlike the wood fuel pellets I used for years. One or two bags a year suffices for 5 indoor-outdoor cats. I dump it on a topsoil pile that will eventually be used for lawn patching or ornamental plants. I never liked to used clay litter or anything else like that. The soil here has too much clay already.

Janis’s expressions say the same thing. In her sleep, it looks like.
