Okay, Fox “news” viewers, is the government shutdown a good thing or a bad thing?-If it’s a good thing, why are Republicans trying to blame Democrats instead of taking credit for it? And why is Fox “news” trying to rename it as being a slimdown or something?-If it’s a bad thing, why did so many Republicans run on a platform of shutting down the government and why did they express so much glee when it happened?

The current US Supreme Court is undoing all the watergate era election reforms and allowing the few with the most money to buy elections.

They should just settle for their 29 hour a week part time job and be thankful they have health insurance they can’t afford! What more do little people want?

So, MS58, does that mean that the government shutdown (slimdown, for Fox “news” viewers) is a bad thing?-YOU don’t think the government should have been shut down?

I wonder why many on the right criticise unions and their willingness to on strike to emphasise their complaints [“causing undue economic harm to the company and in/directly causing it to then fail” ] but have no qualms with a government shutdown.Isn’t a government shutdown like a strike? You’d think they’d now be more amenable to unions, right?

“This shutdown hasn’t actually slowed liberal spending.”True, but it has accelerated conservative spending.

hey, nice speech, good conservative format, change the subject and don’t say anything of value. Now, can you respond to braindead08’s actual post?

“Liberal spending” Sheesh. Spending is approved by the House, the same body intend on crashing the economy. Too bad you didn’t listen to your eighth grade social studies teacher the way you listen to Glenn and Rush..As for the cartoon, congressmen get paid because the money is already appropriated, unlike other salaries and expenses that are year to year. But they’d lose a lot of income if they didn’t shut down the gov’t, because campaign contributions are not appropriated in advance of votes.
