If GC was blocking commentators for name calling, we’d lose over half of the commentators in this forum.@ Enoki - as Kato was able to comment without cursing I’d like to point out he used the word “destroying”. He did not say Mr. Obama destroyed Al Qayada. Mr. Obama is very aggressively, and perhaps illegally, authorizing attacks on terrorist cells wherever our covert services find them. Let’s be clear on one thing… Mr. Obama and Mr. Bush have never attacked anyone. They authorized or failed to authorize attacks on targets identified by our military and covert ops. Fathers, sons, brothers, uncles… mothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts… those are the ones who flew the aircraft, or guided the drones, or placed boots on the ground in order to reach those targets and attack them. And they deserve a Congress that is working just as hard to make the nation for which our soldier fight a better place… a unified place… a place WORTH fighting for.Respectfully,C.
I disagree Enoki.AQ is a hydra and none of its heads are exactly like the original led by bin Laden. The organization was never destroyed, it has simply had heads removed as surviving heads hid and planned their next attacks. It is hard to believe that you consider Mr. Obama’s willingness to wait until an optimum moment to authorize sending men into harm’s way as dithering. Yes, a drone could have gone at other times, but it was only by having someone there to collect the DNA that a confirmed kill could take place. Considering the damage to the USA’s reputation because of civilians killed in drone strikes and bomb attacks, the President would have been irresponsible to NOT consider what might go wrong and what the political consequences might be.Every time we make a mistake, a Chinese ambassador steps in and tells the leaders of the injured nation, “See, this is how the might US treats its friends. Let us help you.”Consider the political consequences of that, Enoki.Respectfully,C.
Reality check: Ted Cruz was born in Canada, his mom is an American citizen, his dad was from Cuba. As long as he renounces the Canadian portion of his (legitimate) dual citizenship, I’d have no problem on his “birther” status with regard any position he might seek. It his policies and views, and the "familial’ view that America should be a Christian theocracy (check out his dad) that makes him “unqualified”.

I do wish we could have a real time conversation on this and some of the other issues on which we’ve spoken.
