FIRST! Even I see only a small percentage of even the TEA party folks showing this amount of disrespect. That they happen to be the ones who got elected, IS the sad part!
It is the disconnect in the “party” between cause and effect that leads to many of the disasters the supporters have no idea what they’re causing.
Every day, I see or hear statements from TEA partiers, and GOPer supporters who prove they know NOTHING about how government, budgets, and the “real world” function. Some is only ignorance, and excusable if the folks will listen to some facts, and acknowledge those facts. It IS those who are literally, and diagnostically either too crazy, or too stupid, to accept facts, who are an embarrassment, not only to the TEA party, but around to our nation at large.
I did “escort duty” for a few friends from my unit after I’d returned from ‘Nam. It was, after only a few, “too much”. I do NOT attend funerals any more, my father’s 40 years ago, and one good friend a few years ago have been all I could muster. The Dover thing is a tad overblown, but the numerous stories that make the press about “returning troops” being honored by airline personnel and passengers does represent what this country SHOULD stand for, but my real anger, and concern, revolves around those “survivors” who’ve been damaged, often severely, who are being ignored.
