The least helpful take on this mess is “It’s both their faults.” It is not. Imagine the outcry from the lunatic right if the Democrats blocked the budget with a demand for background checks for gun sales, or a complete rollback of Bush tax cuts? Do you think they’d complain that the GOP should “negotiate” that?
Actually, the “Fiscal Cliff” did involve the Bush tax cuts rolling back. Have you even read any of the proposals forwarded by the House to the Senate? Do even know what’s in them? Because if you don’t seek that information out, CNN, MSNBC, and all the other left-leaning networks aren’t going to tell you.
