However, if you don’t like what Luckovich’s cartoon says, or how it says it, why not simply say so? You might have better effect by pointing out the flaws in his message, than in accusing him of having a “hateful streak”.

As slanted as your observations are, I’m kinda’ surprised that you even read Mike Luckovich. For instance, I NEVER read Mallard Fillmore – it makes my blood pressure too high

I have to admit a degree of agreement with you. That being said, it is in the nature of cartooning to portray things in simplistic terms. The medium doesn’t lend itself to elaboration.

As for divisive, inaccurate, and offensive, the tone of many of the cartoons to be found on sites like this could be described that way.

As for the comments made by many of the posters, good heavens! It out to be beneath us. I prefer thoughtful dialogue. Some healing and helpful ideas might occur to us.
