During every other government shutdown open air war memorials remained open to the public. But since this administration has to play politics at every chance they spent more money closing it down than if they had just left it open. I wonder if the caligraphers and the dog handlers at the White House are concidered “essential employees” Just like with the sequester, congressional republicans have introduced bills that attempt to reduce or eliminate various parts of the negative impact to the general public from this shutdown, while the president and congressional democratics refuse to compromise and rely on a compliant media to avoid being called on for their stupidity.
Nice try. Too bad it was the president who first started making the changes. One of the house bills would have kept the government running, the only 2 compromises in it would have been to make the ACA apply to congress and to give individuals the same one year exemption Obama has ALREADY given to businesses. I’ve said this before. I can no longer believe any current congressional democrat and this president when they say they support the “little guy” against big business. Comming from them, it’s just a bunch of B.S. to get votes.

Judd understates the reality of GOP idiocy.

No wonder the Republicans in the House are so fantastical. They just reflect their party as proved by some of the comments here.
