If that’s the case, maybe Ms. Johnston should look at herself and how she handles her husband(s) not just how her husband(s) handle the things around them.

When I interviewed with my current boss five years ago, his wife sat in. He told me that she has H/R experience and is a better interviewer than he is. While that is undoubtedly true, I DID find out later that I was hired, not only because of my background and skills as a secretary, but because they both felt “safe” with me.

“…Many of these were instantly set aside due to the reasons I put in this strip!”.Does that mean someone actually put her measurements in a resume in real life, and another wrote her’s out in pencil???

Seriously. Divorce is always fault on all sides. And, judging by the divorce rates, most of us have personality faults. And most of us feel that “men” or “women” have the easier route, which is silly. Who wants to blame tons of people for something? Blame is pointless. Helping support each other is where it’s at.

I, for one, prefer to read strips about people who, like me, do stupid things (although luckily, I haven’t written CV’s with that many mistakes!), than about perfect people. I don’t care much for perfect people.

So, cartoonists can’t possibly win with everyone.

It’s John’s attitude here that’s so obnoxious. My husband and I know “stuff happens” with both men and women, so we both are careful in that regard out of love and consideration for the other one. It’s just what you do. What John is doing is at best adolescent and not in the least funny.

howtheduck : I used to wonder how he got a dental chair in a Cessna for those Arctic patients. Now I wonder about a dental chair and eight passengers. I don’t recall Cessna ever making airliners.

“Our ad in the paper resulted in over a hundred applications. Many of these were instantly set aside due to the reasons I put in this strip”

That makes sense. Seven applications isn’t a landslide, but when you get a hundred, you have to reduce the pile to a manageable size somehow, even with arbitrary rejections.

Good grief. I am so glad my husband and I go to an all-female dental office. Nice, normal, intelligent, competent women with no sexism involved. Of course they all flirt with him! No, just kidding.

John is by far the stupidest male alive. Could he be any more obvious in his desire to cheat on his wife? I need more insight into his upbringing. I barely remember if his parents were written into the strip.

Wandering eyes do not always make a cheater. Sometimes it makes for a better marriage. We(both sexes) have to realize that the other has things they like or might like in the opposite sex. Understand it and get on with your marriage. It will be 40 years for us in January.

Would have been funnier if hubby had said: “Yeah, I’m not interested…give the letter to me, I’ll throw it away.”

howtheduck: Thanks. I never heard about the Piper. However, I still want to know how he got the dental gear into even a 4-place Cessna, much less a 2-seater.
