The ‘phants have been keeping funding away from NPS, F.S., and BLM for a long time, and now suddenly they shut down the government, and they get concerned??? They want to give away all the nation’s (taxpayers) resource to their buddies, with almost every “jobs” bill the the House committees come up with, ripping off the public, and they’re fiscal "conservatives’’’ B.S.!!
I thought conservatives wanted to abolish the national parks anyway. Imagine how much better Yellowstone will be if we turn it over to private management & bring in some roller coasters…
The Republicans offered one way after another for the Dems to cave to the party that lost in the last elections.
Eventually, they’ll have to accept the default position, which (surprise!) is yet another Democratic cave-in, albeit an older one, to the party that suddenly cares about the deficit, veterans, and national parks.
He created a health insurance crisis and we got stuck with that awful Kafkaesque Obamacare and doubled the number of uninsured in the US..The economy tanked and he demanded a massive “stimulus” that ended up totally squandered on stuff that will never return a profit creating a debt ceiling crisis..He ran his mouth on Syria and we got a min-crisis out of that..etc., etc., etc..Now we have Obama and the Democrats saying openly they won’t negotiate on a continuing resolution or the budget and wondering why the government is shutdown.Utter morons leading the Democrats.
@lichtentunes. Bravo. Read This Town by well respected Washington reporter Mark Leibovich. It echos what you’re saying (except the Republican rant which was a little heavy handed, imho.) Even more proof is how only a few decades ago, if you lost an election you went home. Now they stay in Washington as consultants, lobbyists and “think tanks” bringing in fat checks. D.C. has one of the fastest growing real estate markets because no one ever goes home!
“What is our present condition? We have just carried an election on principles fairly stated to the people. Now we are told in advance, the government shall be broken up, unless we surrender to those we have beaten, before we take the offices. In this they are either attempting to play upon us, or they are in dead earnest. Either way, if we surrender, it is the end of us, and of the government. They will repeat the experiment upon us ad libitum.” – Abraham Lincoln, 1861.
Whatever happened to “live within your means?” No “regular Joes” can increase their debt limit time and time again. We should eliminate the automatic increases. Tighten belts, reduce spending, get rid of some of the “non-essential” personnel. The economy is going down the tubes. The govt only sees spend more, More, MORE. Get real, politicos!
Can’t you have ONE SINGLE conservative view along with the extremely leftist cartoons????Uhm, go read Lisa Benson, Glen McCoy, Henry Payne or Mike Ramirez if you don’t want to hear any opinion other than your own.Try to base your next comment in reality.
