You know, this is really not such a difficult problem. All the other industrialized countries have figured out how to run universal health insurance. There are various solutions, but they all seem to work reasonably well. Why is it beyond the competence of the US to do what everyone else has been able to do? Is this American exceptionalism?

Since the FL legislature turned down $51 billion in Federal funds for Medicaid expansion, I will not have health insurance.

If Obama was white it would be Romney Care and OK. Study out a while back showed FOX viewers were stupider than folks who watched NO TV at all.

MStevenson58 states: “Libs ARE low-information voters,” without one shred of fact to support his idiotic statement. I hate to shatter your simple minded world, but I will give conservatives the benefit of the doubt. Every “news” or political talk show conservatives watch or listen to spends all day feeding them confusing misinformation, but in a simple enough way so they think they understand it. Griff’s previous statement here is true and verifiable. The survey DID show that fox “news” viewers WERE generally more misinformed (stupid is harsh) than people who watched NO NEWS at all. What a legacy! Conservative motto: Keep ’em scared…Keep ’em confused…Keep ’em dependent.

“I am on Social Security, too. It’s called Medicare, NOT Medicaid!”-Hmmm, weren’t you complaining about a couple things recently?-1. The government is spending too much money.and2. The government is not spending enough on MY Medicare.-Sounds like you and Fox “news” are made for each other.

Coraryan, you need to go find a job before telling others to go find a job. Otherwise, you are a major hypocrite, just like other republicans and faux news consumers.

Gresh:Sorry, my first time through, I missed your comment: “and a government shutdown that will help save money to pay for the cost of free health care for the low information voters”

Actually, Obamacare is the law of the land, and will receive funding regardless of neocon “shut down” schemes. And, contrary to your hopes, this shutdown is already costing American taxpayers millions of dollars.

Finally, there’s nothing free about Obamacare. Some low income people will receive government subsidies to help defray their costs. You know what government subsidies are, don’t you? That’s what the taxpayers give to obscenely profitable oil companies to help with their expenses, and to wealthy corporations who buy farmland and get taxpayer subsidies to not grow anything on it. Capitalism…what a concept!

I am concerned about your lack of understanding about the most basic aspects of American government. Frankly, I understand why you are so concerned about “low information voters.” You are one:(

    Gresh:

“If a Tree falls in the Forest will there be someone to blame the Republican for it”

You are so incredibly misinformed about so many things. Don’t try to be intellectually clever and sarcastic…Dude, it’s just not you :(

Gresch: Capitalism generates wealth. You seem to feel that you owed a piece of it.????

go put kill a rich person to prove your commitment to the cause of world equality.????

Capitalism generates wealth for a very select few, my misinformed friend. Again, I suggest you read a book about economics.

I can’t make any grammatical sense from your remaining ramblings. There are books available to help you learn how to express yourself more effectively, however…You’re welcome :)

BTW: Cuba actually ranks higher than America in providing affordable health care for all of its citizens.

Gresch: You seem to be overly obsessed with money. But’s that ok. It provides insight as to why you seem to view low income people in such a dim light. So, is it the poor’s fault that they’re poor? Do they somehow deserve it? Are they inherently lazy in your view? Are people like mitt romney, donald trump, and george w. bush to be more admired because they had the foresight to be born to wealthy families?

What do you think any of them would have accomplished without that tremendous head start?

What would be your suggestion to a low income man who works 40 hours a week, yet barely can feed his family, let alone actually own a house, or afford health care for his family? Borrow $20,000 from his parents and start a business? That was mitt’s suggestion. How about have your daddy’s investment group give you a major league baseball team to run like george w. bush? I wish I would have thought to ask my dad for those things. It would have made life easier than actually working for a living for nearly 40 years.

What is the basis for your belief that this low income man and people like him don’t deserve any assistance from those who have way more than they would ever need, and most likely inherited what they have? Or do you consider inheriting wealth to be a job?

Gresch: Envy? Are you a psychiatrist now? Oh, come on now. Like you think you know me? I’ve worked hard and invested well. Although born in poverty, I am now retired and financially set for several lifetimes. The difference I see here is that I see myself as blessed and am willing to share my excess with others who need help. Nobody wants to be poor. I always figure out what I need each month, and the rest goes to friends who are out of work, or otherwise in need, for whatever reason. If I don’t need it, why keep it? For what end? I’m not an obsessed capitalist who needs to have more than the next guy, even though I already have more than I need. I get the feeling that you need to keep it all for yourself…Only you know why. My money doesn’t bring me happiness; what I do for others with my money makes me happy.A side issue: I will repeat an earlier suggestion. Your grammar and syntax skills suck. People do judge you by your ability to write a cogent sentence. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to clean up the mess.

Sometimes I annoy “grammar trolls.” I fixed your punctuation there. No problem…I enjoy helping people. Your statement here is a pseudo intellectual guise to cover insecurities, but of course, you must know that. Do I know myself? I believe that I do. I am honest, forthright, fair, and informed, which makes it that much more frustrating having discourse with someone such as you. You have a very difficult time admitting that you’re wrong, or to be fair, misinformed. That is another indication of intellectual insecurities. My immediate family is fine, as are those whom I have added to my family that I help. My family helps as well. i was raised to assist others in any way that I could. I do not write about “taking other people’s money.” To the contrary, my position is that obscenely wealthy individuals should be willing to share what they don’t need, rather than hide it away to avoid paying taxes. The Wal Mart heirs, for example, are worth approximately $18 Billion each. They did not earn a dime of it…They inherited it all. What does an individual need with that much money? Why not share it with those less fortunate? Of course, more directly, they could actually pay their workers a decent enough salary to enable them to have a share of the American dream. My congratulations on your skill improvement, and I sincerely mean that. I’m sure we’ll meet again, and I’m looking forward to your continuation in that area. But, I will end with this: “your skills suck:” I will admit to leaving that for you to attack. And you sucked it up like a large mouth bass! Later.

I like how you are educating yourself. That takes effort. Do the grammar screening on your own, and then I’ll be impressed. You must still feel a little insecure about your abilities. But…back to content: The neocons have been very successful in brainwashing you. You obviously feel paranoid about someone coming after your money. For the record, I don’t harbor ill toward the financially blessed. (Run that through your grammar program.) I am financially blessed. I harbor ill toward greedy, selfish people, who are in a position to help others and refuse to do so.And no, I am not a closet Socialist; I am a proud Socialist. According to worldwide polls, people who live in Socialist Democracies, are the happiest, healthiest people in the world.
