Bucky: Ok, on three you throw the doll, my bat wings will allow me to fly and catch it in midair, one... two... three!
Satchel: Bucky, you missed the doll, why didn't you fly? You ok? Bucky? Bucky, wakeup! My doll is in a puddle!
One thing’s for certain. The first things to touch were his foot pads. After that, all bets are off. Anxious to see tomorrow’s denouement. Even if they are re-runs, they’re new to me.
Knowing Bucky to be a superior cat species, he obviously landed on his feet. This superiority is often followed by the inferiority of the rest of the body landing on them too.
I seem to recall that cats are likeliest to survive either a short fall, or a very high one. The mid-range ones (third floor?) lead to the most fatalities.
Like watching a road runner cartoon… each time you know the outcome is the same but you keep hoping… just this once… maybe this time… that the coyote will win one. This is equally hilarious!
I wtched a 6-month old cat leaning out of a second-story window in our apartment. For about 3 days, he leaned out farther, feeling the stucco walls. Then, as I watched, he made the decision and RAN down the wall, leaping out to the ground when he was about 4 feet from the ground. From then on, he was an outdoor cat, although he came back to the building daily to be fed.
Given the surreal logic of this strip, I would have thought Bucky would land on the real Rob. In truth, Bucky is the kind of cat who would land on someone else’s feet.

And Bucky does his leap of faith. Do we get the feeling he didn’t soar. Do we get the feeling he didn’t quite land properly on his feet?

Bucky, one of only 3 cats in the world that doesn’t know which way is up.

Too bad he didn’t land on his head. Knock some sense into him.

They live in a building with pink siding? What’s up with that?

My cat jumped off the 2nd story balcony a couple of times and ran off unharmed. Cats are wacky!
