Actually I resent anybody that makes such comparisons to anybody now being like Hitler was. The times: the late 1930’s through the middle 1940’s were entirely different, the men: Hitler and Chamberlain were also entirely different, and even the countries: England and Germany, were totally different than any exist today.
Yes, it is true that Chamberlain was considerably naive and duped. But, I would ask the same ultra conservative right wing religious Christians types that always seem to condemn him, this: Have you ever actually bothered to even read the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? Or what would Jesus say, let alone do?Perhaps they should try reading Matthew 5 (the beginning of The Sermon On The Mount), verse 9, “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”So I would say that Neville Chamberlain’s eternal soul (even naive and duped) has found a far more pleasant place to spend eternity, than the soul of the man who duped him: Adolph Hitler. That is, of course, if you are a true Christian that believes in a just God!!
Thank you Michael, that was very interesting. So, sometimes even while promoting peace for its own sake, you still do the right thing in helping to prepare for inevitable and unavoidable war. Once again, even in the piratical sense, the precepts of Christ still work out for the best!!
oh, my God. Where to start? Cruz lied in about every statement. He thinks IRS agents will choose doctors! He doesn’t even understand the bill he pretends to not like. Watch your wallets, conservatives, you are marks. They will want money for these pointless exercises in self-aggrandizing.
“Who is speaking in defense of all Americans’ freedoms, even those who will not listen.”Any politician truly looking to defend Americans’ freedoms would have done so during the vote to continue the Patriot Act. Both political parties failed to protect our freedoms.
