And the Utah National Guard will not send the agreed upon road building help to Colorado because of the impending shut down. Winter is coming.

I would like to think you are right, Michael, but I think he is taking it back downstairs. Even if the shutdown is avoided, the bill to be passed will be another stop gap measure with no long term results that CEOs say they need in order to make decisions on hiring, investments, and innovation. It does not address the sequester or any other of the financial threats our legislator is inflicting on our economy. The man in the cartoon may bring down his Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Cmas boxes, but he won’t add much to them. He’ll be too concerned on what may happen to his money, his job, and his healthcare.I always enjoy reading your WME, Words of Mass EnlightenmentRespectfully,C.

Rick Santelli on CNBC this morning ran a series of video clips and quotes from 2006 and 2008. It was the perfect example of the hypocrisy of our congress and current president. Clips from Obama, Harry Ried, and Nancy Pelosi were all condemning the Repub. admin. for their proposal to raise the debt ceiling. On the opposite side of that discussion was a lineup of Repub. congressmen emphatically pushing the necessity of raising the debt limit.

IMO it is the greatest insult to the American people that they expect us to accept this hypocrisy as if we are incapable of remembering the recent past and blithely accepting their current simplistic rationalizations, i.e. “things are different now.”

My question to the contributors to this board is, what position and political platform were you supporting in 2006 and 2008?.Are you on the opposite side of this debt ceiling discussion (and others) “just because” of your political affiliation or are you as lacking in principals as our legislators? This is an inane and ridiculous example of the detached population in Washington, the inflexible duopoly that controls the government.

The attached link is to a Libertarian writer named Bill Freeza. It’s long but I think does a good job of illuminating the absurdity of our political situation today. Thanks for letting me share.

It’s truly amazing that every time the right-wing radicals do something truly, truly, and totally stupid, they try to blame it on the Democrats, or just “libs”. There are still quite a number of “blue dogs” in the House, but only two of them would go along with the TEA pots last time out..

It truly is a shame the few remaining REAL Republicans, are the ones being called “RiNO”, when it’s the TEA pots that have lost touch.
