At all, I have revisited the two previous days’ comments and attempted to clear up mis-statements, errors and outright lies.@swr: You asked for my CV, and in the comments on October 9 2013 I showed enough to win, with only really plugged in people able to identify me, without drawing unwanted attention.I cannot believe I am writing this, but must grudgingly compliment Night-Gaunt49 as being the voice of reason and truth in these forums.NG49 and I frequently disagree because I have developed a moderate center-right, and view NG as predominantly left. In most of the world, excluding China, I am the equivalent of a Christian Democrat while NG seems to be a Social Democrat. I am for a strong, sane national defense, but believe the rest of the world should pay for their own defense, and we have no business being the cop, judge and jury for the rest of the world.JusSayin

Oh yeah, in the rest of the world, Republicans are just to the left of Monarchists, who want all power vested in a Monarch. The Liberal Democratic Party is near USA Republicans with a dash of Ku Klux Klan in the mix, and when white supremacist David Duke went on the lam, the LDP supported and protected him, and shared the funds he helped the Eastern Europe LDP raise. That LDP should never be confused with the 18th century freethinkers (liberté de Pensée) in France, who did last into part of the 19th.

" You are miseducated on this point REPUBLIC is the antisis of Monacy" Ooh, careful. Often Republicain ideals are used to overthrow monarchies, and become what they claimed to despise.Of course a representative republic in a country that was once a monarchy is by definition to the left of monarchists because they want more people, less entitled people to enjoy the fruits of their labors, and disenfranchised royalty. That is a more populist government, and hence, Republicains are to the left of monarchists. It is really a very broad spectrum from left to right, and Monarchists are far right and Republicans are less so. Napoleon was quite the populist at first, then he wanted to be Emperor of Temporal and Spiritual Authority.Really, I can’t think of any until the late forties, certainly none that matter. USSR is Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Soviet means approximately Collective. They seemed to be pretty far left.Christian Democrats vs Social Democrats. Well, it is kind of hard to explain unless you had to work with them. Christian Democrats are pretty far to the right in France. The Socialists PSM are currently in power, and Sarkozy was effectively Christian Democrat, quite alligned with USA until the election dispatched him.

Dominick Strauss-Kahn was to be the Socialist Candidate, but it appears, the US, French Intelligence, Ségolène Royale and possibly German Intel torpedoed him over a badger game. Ségolène Royale was to be the Socialist candidate after Strauss-Kahn was eliminated as the Socialist Candidate, but French Intelligence released evidence her brother piloted the motorboat that was the getaway vessel for the team that blew up Greenpeace’s Rainbow Warrior as a French Intelligence Operation. So her boyfriend Hollande broke up with her and got elected as the Socialist Candidate. European politics are kind of like a polite, political death match soccer game. They are far more subtle and entertaining than ours. And just for kicks, Christine LaGarde, a right wing Christian Democrat replaced the leftist (not very in practice) Social Democrat Strauss-Kahn as Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. There is a huge chasm between the Conservative Christian Democrats and the Leftist Social Democrats.SurfStuff55 and Jenner are correct, you have to look at the political environment first to understand Conservative, Liberal, Libertarian and so forth, and it may be easier to say relatively right or left in a particular country. If you read my partial CV I printed in the comments of Prickly City I think October 9, it is easy to see I was to the far right when I was younger, and working at OMB, IMF and Riggs Bank in Washington DC, as well as working for Friends of the Americas. I did work for Jean-Michel Camdessus as a special advisor on Quantitative Research when he was Managing Director of the IMF, and he was a moderate Christian Democrat, and schooled me on European Politics from time to time.At the moment, the most powerful politician in Europe is a relatively far right Christian Democrat, Angela Merkel, the Iron Chancellor of Germany, pretty right wing for socialist.Yes, American talking heads disparage all of Europe as Socialist to Communist, but I stand by my modified statement Reagan Republicans as they existed in the 1980s were quite close in ideology to Christian Democrats. Now, they really are approaching the ultra right wing Liberal Democratic Party of Eastern Europe.Did you see Speaker Boehner’s accusation that Obama wanted Unconditional Surrender of the CR before opening talks. Boehner’s people knew the term “Unconditional Surrender” is associated with General U S Grant’s demand of General Robert E Lee that the South Unconditionally Surrender. Those two words are very emotionally charged in the Southern States, and were meant as a indirect racist attack against Obama. Boehner should have immediately resigned, but being an important demagogue was more important to him than anything else.I still maintain I am center right, but the far far out there right is noisy and disruptive, so I can understand given the level of discussion how someone could mistake me for center left, because the lunatic fringe of the left is no longer interesting.

Sincerely and Respectfully, (and on a phone so please forgive typos and syntax). JusSayin
