At least Mr Deering had the bit about jewelry correct. It used to only be for warriors and clergy to wear. And back then, only MEN were warriors and clergy at the time jewelry was invented.
If you’ve ever had an infant grab your earrings or necklace, you will understand why only men wore jewelry in those days.
