Lower your expectations? That’s a fine sentiment from an ‘exceptional’ person. Is that your rationale behind voting out the GOP? Lowering your expectations for government too?
@PAJ, “most” liberals “always” equate conservative opinions like yours with hate and fear primarily because of the hateful and fearful way in which you folks express them. Not much give and take any more in the world of political discourse. Sad. BTW, everyone who disagrees with you isn’t your liberal enemy, many moderates out here too. Come join us in the middle, you might be surprised how many worthwhile ideas and dreams live here. That is what used to make America strong.
@PAJ, wrong on the newbie, been here for several years now. Long enough anyway to witness the name changes that a couple contributors have gone through, Ima for example. Even had someone using a name very similar to mine post things I never would have. It is easy for all of us to jump to conclusions, thus the great need for intelligent and insightful communication rather than inciteful declarations of “fact”.
“Ah, if only America could be that kind of strong again.”
I second your nomination. My only quarrel with the rampant partisanship is that it is just that, and that it is a major weakness on both sides of the aisle.
They’ve been tearing it down for many decades – both parties. Or both sides of one party, whichever way you prefer to see it.
Or to put it another way – I don’t see either side of the goverment as being ‘moderate’ in any way. I’d love to see some moderate again, but I doubt I’ll live long enough.
“That’s rich when you’re calling hateful names with every post against anyone and everyone who disagrees wtih your party line mantras.”
I don’t see this from TTM, or any of the other posters he nominates. Their posts are consistently thoughtful and analytical, and I have not seen that from the posters they disagree with.
To the ’toon; the deficit, a measure of the “economy” is down another 35% as a component of GDP, and has gone DOWN every year since 2009. “Civilian” employment is UP, while “government” employment has been declining for some four years.
No, we’re not on “Easy Street” yet, but the GOP keeps trying to keep everyone locked in a blind alley.
Nice Type II response there TM! That is the ad hominen attack. You can’t argue with the facts and logic so you attack the person making the argument instead.
Oh, just for your edification:
There are three responses by a Progressive Leftist to any logical fact based argument they disagree with:
Type I: Change the subject or dodge the argument.
Type II: The ad hominen attack.
Type III: Stop arguing and storm off mad in a funk.
There is a rare Type IV response. This is the incoherent psychobable but you don’t see it much.
See! Progressives just cannot help themselves! Instead of addressing my post ahab uses an ad hominen and calls me a hypocrite.
How in the world am I a hypocrite for posting up a theorm on Progressive responses? Either I’m accurate in my assessment or I’m not. Either way it isn’t hypocritical.
Defined:1: a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2: a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
I did nether, yet ahab says I am a hypocrite. The Progressive Left just cannot help themselves….

The only real drawback is you can never get it lit with a Progressive President and Democrats running things…
