We want dead people. We want bombing and killing! We don’t want diplomacy — that’s for wimps! Kill more kids!

Cynicism as an art form…. Brilliant! You present the past in a way I’d not considered and I think we both hope you are wrong. For myself, Prince Bandar and the rest of the emirates of the Arab League should be the ones using all of the aircraft they’ve bought from the USA in order to enforce any no fly zones in the region. The US can offer support through our satellites and non combat drones, but the Islamist nations do not appreciate our ‘Christian Nation’ being police in their countries.Sadly, our legislators appear to have no understanding of history and their hubris is infinite.Good comment, sir.Sincerely,C.

Of course the KGB leader of Russia used the top USA “useful idiot”…..and is playng Obama like a fiddle! Many other world leaders see our current occupant of the Oval Office in the same way, easy to dupe.-Obama’s legacy is to be the 2-term Campaigner for the Democratic Politics Is All regime.

Like several others who have posted, I am completely mystified how Obama looks bad and looks weak. He got exactly what he wanted without firing one bullet or one cruise missile. Regardless of how this plays out, the chances of Assad using more poison gas against his people are zero. People have stepped back from the red line. Obama instigated the resistance to this International crime against humanity, and he did it against opposition from both sides. That takes strength, wisdom, and courage. .The weakness comes from those who would disparage their President who handled a rather messy situation well, and who would rather credit just about anyone else no matter how much of a two-bit player.

Your post really says nothing. I ask, “How does Obama look bad” and you answer “Obama looks weak”. Use any quasi-synonym you like (“thin” “emaciated” “enervated” “wimpy”) but a synonym is not an argument. Let’s say a pizza costs $10, and you say “That’s cheap.” I ask, “How is that cheap?”, and you answer “That’s inexpensive.” That’s not an argument, you’re just restating your initial claim. You have to say, “Well, compared to the going rate for that size pizza…” I think Obama looks pretty good, and I said why. In the terms of this cartoon, Obama convinced Putin to play the tune Obama wanted to hear. That’s not weak, that’s a success.

For those whom expect any diplomat of the USA to have the same level of pull in Syria as a Russian diplomat should have a bullet put through their head, as it would clearly miss any brain it would give a great thing for medical examiners.

The truth is that countries are predisposed to other countries, A peace plan fostered by Russia is still far more likely to work than the possibility of any peace plan occurring from the USA

I would very much appreciate it if you would stop calling me an Obamabot. If you don’t call me an Obamabot I won’t call you a Nazi.
