    “Jobless recovery. Hope and change in-action…”The lack of jobs state side would be due to the actions of the so-called “job creators” sending manufacturing jobs overseas. Maybe if we give them even more tax cuts they’ll consider keeping one or two jobs here. Maybe.

    Sort of like the “Mission Accomplished” sign a certain previous president used?

    I know you like to pick and choose your info, but Obama said (about the Republicans): “So far, at least, what they’ve expressed is a preference where they’d rather have these cuts go into effect than close a single tax loophole for the wealthiest Americans — Not one." In other words the cons wanted these cuts, not Obama.

    @Oblivious & RX

    As soon as you brought up the sequester being created by Republicans, and the Mission Accomplished sign you two outed yourselves as trolls who don’t care for truth and would rather argue for the sake of it. You’re worthless to debate with because you’re close-minded.

    Money is the primary weapon in the war between corporations and gov’ts. A company that might want to take on new workers or invest in company, or even community infrastructure, must keep a certain amount of capital in reserve to protect against hostile takeovers. Since Citizen’s United, they must also be ready to contribute to those Super Pacs supporting candidates most likely to pass legislation friendly to that company’s goals. Those states that elect judges offer even more of a ‘threat’.Loyalty to community no longer exists as every company able to do so turns to the state offering them most beneficial tax terms and the least amount of regulation. What amazes me is these states have the audacity to be shocked when the business moves to another state as soon as their benefits end. It’s like a woman who steals another woman’s husband and is surprised when he leaves her for another woman a few years later.Our workers are not only competing with underpaid and under compensated workers from other nations, they are also competing with incarcerated workers toiling in corporate prison factories making a multitude of products.I’m glad unemployment is down, but is it really a victory if a person with a family who lost a 50k+ per year job is now having to work for minimum wage? Sadly,but Respectfully,C.

    You most certainly can. Just become president.

    This is America. Anybody can become president.

    But if you can’t, it’s your own fault so don’t blame others, ok?

    “If the Economy is back….Where are the Jobs.”Certainly not in Government. If government employment kept up with population growth as it did during previous administrations, we’d have another 1.5 million jobs. Private sector profits are up, as is employee productivity. Yet, hiring is sluggish & wages for labor are stagnant. What should Obama do about it?

    The House Republicans in committee haven’t passed a single actual “jobs” bill. They’ve forwarded a bunch of bills to further deregulate corporations, give away the taxpayers natural resources, and improve corporate profits, while lowering their taxes, but “Jobs bills”— not a single one.

    p.s. last Friday the “righties” were blaming Obama’s Syrian stance for dipping the stock market, but it’s back up again today, over 15,000- maintaining record highs well above anything Republican administrations mustered, but not a word about THAT! It’s really funny that "socialist’ Obama’s administration has been far more conservative on many issues, and created more jobs, than Bush. Remember folks, continued losses in 2009 were still the result of eight years of Bush the vacationing brushman.

    You mean like the one that lifts restrictions on pesticides? Or the one calling for drug testing anyone who files for unemployment? Or the one that gifts a valuable chunk of broadband spectrum to Verizon?

    “The only “jobs” bill the House wants are cuts for their wealthy patrons. Not small start ups…”Aww, that’s not fair. The House wanted to pass a law lifting regulatory requirements on “small” S Corps, like Koch Industries.

    “Thanks to President Obama”Get real. Companies have been moving jobs overseas for decades. It’s not about politics, it’s about corporate greed and consumer apathy. There’s more profit to be made when a company contracts out to Chinese factories that offer employees low wages to work in deplorable conditions. The average consumer would rather not think about where their gadgets come from, just as long as they can get it cheap enough.It’s getting damn hard to find products with the “Made in the USA” label.

    Obama knew he was playing a game of chicken with a bunch of blind lunatics. The sequester deal was his attempt to stretch the road, in the hopes that someone could talk sense into the GOP. So, yeah… he miscalculated by overestimating the GOP.“I will veto any effort to get rid of those automatic spending cuts,” said Obama from the White House’s briefing room, adding “the only way to get rid of those cuts is to get Congress to come together and work on a deal.”
