And for my next and slightly more intelligent comment, Tiffany is being more horrible than usual.

She isn’t quite taking candy away from babies, but she is taking a dance away from kids whose age is still in the single digits!

Chances are, Gunther, Knute, and lots of other guys will also be old, wrinkled, and single at their 50th high school reunion. She will have her pick of guys again!

Why not just plan an after school dance for the kids, then re-use the flags for your dance?

All would have been fine if Tiff had asked the kids to volunteer to help make flags, just to help out. Unfortunately, Tiff just isn’t wired that way; she suffers from the “What’s in it for me?” syndrome.

Tiffany, dear, you are being a cruel, abusive, child-exploiter. There is little that can be more detestable. Luann, use any means necessary to set Tiff straight—or if she won’t go straight, see to it that she goes horizontal (as in unconscious).

It’s no accident I saw an ad for a Christmas Carol on the side of the screen. Complete with Tiff’s fiancée, Ebeneezer Scrooge. (Pre ghosts Scrooge, of course. Post ghosts, he wouldn’t have anything to do with her either.)

Very funny! “A Few Good Men” most definitely came to mind, when I read this strip, too!

Ok. Tif has been sloppy in dealing with the kids. She over promised and under delivered. All she had to do is tell the kids they’d be helping with a big boy/girl dance and they’d have loved it. Re: “kids just don’t want to be bored.” Tif’s fundamental insecurities, probably from a rough home life, leads her to always offer something, as she believes people only do things to get something. Luann is trying to show her, but tiff will need a larger lesson than this. Tiffs reaction here will be to get frustrated (since she can’t understand) and walk away (quit). But probably not before grabbing the decorations. Will we always have tiffs fundamental problems rubbed in our faces like she’s pure evil and inredeemable. This parody will run its course, lapsing from funny to sad to entirely predictable (ok it’s already there). Personally, I’m ready for a surprise.

Retired also but now wife’s office manager. Good news I get to run around a bit, work in the yard, visit parents, and read Luann more!

It seems Tiff simply doesn’t have a clue…or refuses to get one… {sigh} I hate to say it, but maybe the only thing that will get her attention is a bit of “humbling…” a la “Paris Hilton/Lindsay Lohan L.A. County style.” 30-60 days should do, but a full 30-60, not a “release after 48hrs.”

Got to hand it to Tiff, when it comes to passing the blame, she thinks at the speed of light!

Next year Tiffany and Luann will be assigned the same room at the dorm, but for right now, Luann is the boss. She knows kids, and the kids love her. Early childhood education is in Luann’s future. That is my guess, but I have to wait until next September to see if I’m right.

Most grade schools don’t offer school dances for their kids; they are too young for dances.

Those prove that Knute is not serious about school, and that he sometimes fails classes taught by Mr Fogarty. They do not prove that he fails all his classes, or that he has less than a C average. They also predate the Washington trip by quite a lot. (Not that I really doubt there are plenty of more recent examples.)

This isn’t going to end well.

Levy posted several dates the other day when Luann and Tiffany were in physical cat fights.

If he gets an A in woodshop and an A in PE, a B in Newpaper, and a C+ in Social Studies and whichever Math/English (it varies from strip to strip) Fogarty is not teaching, he squeaks in for the trip. Add to that, he may get credit for some sort of extra curriculars. He also may wind up with a D in the class he is failing in any given strip, as Fogarty and Phelps are on him about assignments, not the total class grade. You don’t have to be very close to perfect to average a C+.

“Evans didn’t do the history to figure out the Knute/grades issues andas such he has misrepresented information in Luann yet again. He probably also didn’t figure that someone like Levi would take the time to call him on it and ignite a debate on Luanalyzers.”This is the true reason, of course.

They got into it physically a few times when they were in junior high, but yes, I agree that they have outgrown it.

I think you are right that Tiffany will go to college because it is the easiest way to retain her role in the strip. I doubt we will be treated to any other motive other than “Going to college is what you do when you finish high school.”

Maybe it won’t be necessary to keep Tiffany in Pitt after Luann enrolls in community college there. Tiffany can move to Hollywood and still come back from time to time to visit, while Luann meets one or more Tiffany-types among her new classmates.

Tease or not Quill seems to be gone for good. ^That’s the way the road signs are pointing… but the car has been known to make sharp turns…. (Please, no jokes about who’s driving, Lol!)

11-11-09. Tiffany does have exactly the right skills for that mission of mercy.

But it would violate Tiff’s idea of foisting the work onto others gratis. ^Yes, this is so, but it can be superseded by her realizing when either the “game is up”, or when she knows what the best deal is… just like she realized that she had no option but to tell the truth (courtesy of Luann’s reasoning), even though it was not her idea nor her desire…..

When you think of kids and songs, don’t you automatically think of that chorus of school children on Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”? “We don’t need no education…”
