What, no lefties defending their guy for doing exactly the same thing as Bush?

“Bronc-O” Bama rides again?Mr. Payne’s comparison is simplistic. The actions being considered in Syria are much more comparable to when Reagan bombed Libya after that nation was tied to a terror attacks on US citizens.^http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/us-bombs-libya^There is also more consensus from the international community that Syria’s military did indeed use gas on it’s people. That said…^Because of our financial situation, because of the weariness of our military and their families and the American people in general, because no actions taken by the USA since Kuwait have received the goals or appreciation sought, the USA should NOT take the point on any raids on Syria. No manned aircraft should fly over Syria and all help should be based on what our satellites, intelligence agencies, drones, and cruise missiles can do to support the Arab League in their efforts to control ‘one of their own."We can and should do everything we can to help our ’allies’ survive incursions into Syria and use our resources to protect citizens and any soldiers who wish to surrender.^One more point-A commentator has asked under a couple of other cartoons about humanitarian aid. It is my understanding the USA is the major contributor of food, water, and medicine going to refugees. But there are two million refugees in Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, and even Lebanon and the logistics of getting aid to all of them is daunting at best.I wish Assad would ask for Asylum in Russia and leave. I wish the Arab League would just act to save Muslims without waiting on the west. I wish human beings could learn to live together in a civil and respectful manner.And if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.“Put the saddle on the stove, Ma. Perhaps instead of “more consensus”, “more agreement” would have been a better word choice. The use of the word ‘more’ made it seem appropriate.Where are my doggone Strunk and White or My Little Brown books on writing.Russia apparently has many of their ships anchored in Syria for deployment to the Atlantic or through the Suez Canal and I can understand why they’d not want to lose that strategic base.Thank you for expanding the debate.Sincerely,C.
