Stephen Pastis! Did you sabotage this Peanuts strip?!

Now that I think about it, didn’t Stephan Pastis once say that Charles Schultz was his inspiration? I’ve read this particular strip before, but I never until now realized that Charles was going for the sort of elaborate tongue-twister and word play that Stephan is so fond of doing.

Ah yes, I remember when minibikes were major business. Back in those days they advertised Daisy pellet rifles in the Sunday comics pages, too. Times sure have changed.

The seeds of the past have come to fruit today.

What do mini-bikes look like?

How much were they, I wonder?

And whatever for did he want to know how many mini-bikes they had in all?

Schulz’s kids apparently drove their neighbors crazy constantly riding their mini-bikes on the hills around where they lived.

Unless you want your tongue in a knot then I would not read this strip out loud.

Sounds like a Lucy style prank call

Kids on minibikes beat the heck out of kids smoking pot. They need something to do or they will find something (drugs are a cheap way to get instant gratification).

I laughed the first time I saw this strip all those many years ago and I laughed now.

Funny how you remember some things..Mini-Bikes were a big thing back in 1967-1968.I can still see my buddy Dean looking like Daffy duck withhis long legs trying to balance the bike as it putt-putted down the street..

I have this strip and Charlie wanted a mini bike, eh????!!!!

Just as a side of info…Peanuts Inc was getting ready to supply a Snoopy to be taken to the moon and back in the Apollo program(1968-69)..If you visit Schulz museum in Santa Rosa Ca..you will see that stuffed Snoopy.
