Ike had his little problem with Lebanon. Then Ronnie had that little Beirut problem with our Marines. Then the Bush double down fiascos in Iraq. Oh, and then Afghanistan.Carter of course had a little Iran problem, that was complicated a lot more by under the table “Ronnie work” than the Ayatollah.

Maybe not just our presidents, but our nation, (and chickenhawks in Congress) should realize we can’t run the Middle East, though Mobil oil had a lot stronger stranglehold than our government ever has.

The Big O is too busy spying on Americans to turn his attention to the rest of the world.

Those pictures are secret evidence of Obama’s attitude toward the idiocy that is Right-wing ’Murica. The little outlet that probably keeps him from exploding. Fair enough.

My father-in-law said “They should have given us New York. That would have prevented a lot of problems.”

“I cannot imagine any American President “telling” Europe anything…England play a major role in this….as were are basically an isolationist nation , and still are to an extent…”Given that the U.S. Army was occupying all of Western Europe, Truman was the one who decided whether surviving Jews would be allowed to emigrate to Israel. He had to lean hard on the Brits to get their agreement, but they were dependent on American loans to keep afloat.I’m not sure you could call a country that had been staging military interventions around the globe for over a century by 1945, ‘isolationist’. American oil companies had been operating in the Middle East since the 1920s.Madagascar?? Aside from the notion that I doubt any Jews were willing to settle there (sending Jews to Madagascar was a Nazi plan), it’s not like there weren’t locals who would have been upset at a Zionist community in their midst.

“Wrong you are, The Middle East has been one huge Mess since The Crusades.”That’s just not true. During the Ottoman heyday, the region was more peaceful than most of Europe was at the time. Jews did far better under Muslim rule than Crusader rule. “Better” meaning treated as second class citizens to be controlled & exploited as opposed to being massacred for heresy.

Never has a strip been more on the mark. However: I am very left, very Liberal and everyone is going to hate me when I say the never ending war—which comes as no surprise to me whatsoever—is from both and all sides in Washington. They profit and we pay the bills in cash and lives. Doesn’t anyone smell anything wrong when just as we are about to pull our troops out a new major incident happens to keep us in that area. Do I dare say it might not be the Syrians behind the nerve gas attacks. Let’s see. Who will be making money if we go into another war. And it’s always, just a few boats or advisors. It always escalates. How convenient the once free press is no under government control so we will continue to not see the thousands of American bodies coming back and the maiming and mutilations will be spooned to us on TV and Computer media in palatable stories meant to pull at our heart strings. The men and women who are permanently destroyed yet alive will not be shown. Not good press.

The situation comes from the people who are going to continue to sell the bombs and ammunition and guns. This new atrocity comes just as we’re about withdraw our troops from the area. Something always comes up just in time to keep our money there. Have you ever heard of a recovery program called Al-Anon or CODA? Good programs for people who feel the ‘need’ to be fixing everyone else all the time. PS: Everything I really know about the attacks and the people involved comes second and third hand through the media so do you have any other source I can check into, personally?

First it’s sit… then it’s beg… then it’s role over… then next, play dead… if there’s even a hint of truth to this toon’s claim/opinion it is a scary thought. I don’t envy the folk who have to make all the decisions… I just hope the make the right ones for all our sakes.
