Jim Davis doesn’t make GMG, because he doesn’t exactly make Garfield anymore, either. His company Paws, Inc. makes them. I think that explains a lot about the quality of the current product. Amusingly, Wikipedia describes Davis’ company as an “entertainment” empire and his employees as “artists”.Honestly, I feel that the series of strips where Jon finally won Liz was the pinnacle of Garfield; they were funny as well as sweet. That kind of capped off the series for me.
