Totally in agreement with you ConGov.This tit for tat game between party members is truly disgusting.Yes, birthers challenged Mr. Obama’s right to be president and some still do, however, MR.CRUZ WAS BORN TO AN AMERICAN CITIZEN!!! He is, therefore, an American, just as Mr. Obama is by right of being to a US citizen even if she hadn’t been in a US State at the time..A Chinese or East European woman comes to America, stays for two weeks, has her baby, and returns to her country and the child never comes back to the USA until old enough to vote…. THAT makes the child an American citizen, but Mr. Cruz’s mother goes to live in Canada temporarily and that makes her child ineligible to be president? Ridiculous!I do not like Mr. Cruz’s politics and will not vote for him, however, unlike MortyforTyrant, I will be very pleased when this story goes to the dustbin where it belongs.Sincerely,C.

Raphael Edward Cruz could also be a Cuban citizen as well as Canadian.A reporter took a couple of minutes to make Donald Trump look like the idiot he is yesterday after 5 years of hootin’ and hollerin’ about President Obama’s birth certificate.

Not the same; one was born in America, one in Canada.

Not that I think either should be disqualified on that basis. Both clearly had American mothers and full legal claim to be naturally born citizens, left wingnuts and right wingnuts be damned.

The Republicans keep giving cartoonists low hanging fruitCAKES to make jibes at.

Before taking office, dual-citizenship Cruz, born in Canada, should have renounced his Canadian citizenship, just as naturalized citizens must do in their oath of citizenship renouncing all foreign " attachments". While for many things, I have no problem with my friends who do hold dual citizenship with the limited nations the U.S. allows, but to be in Congress, anyone, especially a “conservative” owes it to the electorate to have allegiance only to the U.S..

Actually, there was never a legitimate question regarding Obama. He was born in Hawaii to an American mother. Period. The people questioning this refused to accept the official state evidence. The “original certificate” is merely nonsense; the legal document was shown over and over again.

I wish anyone noticeable on the left would have cared about any of this for Obama. Despite his calling himself a foreigner on a college application and in one of his books, it was simply glossed over.

Raphael’s eligibility for office is a non-issue. The story here is the humor of seeing the birthers being hoisted on their own petard.

That’s a nice fairy tale. A Clinton supporter started the birther nonsense, but she had the good sense to ignore it. Democrats had the good sense to ignore it. The debate episode is pure fiction. It wasn’t until the GOP got on board, that the issue started coming up in the allegedly liberal MSM. It was kept alive by the GOP members, many of whom also were Tea Party backers. The idiots who have posted here about the “Kenyan Usurper” deserve to be reminded of their words. I don’t recall you having stooped to that level, but throwing the birther movement on Hillary’s lap is pretty dishonest.
