If the NSA was really the boogieman that most of the ultra conservatives on this site seem to think it is, then with all of their virulent anti governmental comments, they should all now be in federal prisons with no access at all to this or any other internet site!!

Beside which, does anyone of even reasonable intelligence actually think that the government has enough people and resources to go through and analyze the tens of terabytes of information generated every day. Most of this information would put a boulder to sleep!!
As I am not planning on any way shape or manner becoming a terrorist, then I really do not care that much just how much such an organization as the NSA has to “snoop” to find out which people are planning another 9/11 type of event. Besides which, if you are not aware that private corporations have been far more effectively “snooping” the internet for many years now, then your head really is in the sand!!
Besides which, if President Obama really was after people that constantly complain about him (to the extent of calling him a NAZI, for crying out loud!), then people such as yourself are in truly big trouble. But, I see that you and others like you are still here, are you not??
Zuckerberg and Bezos have a lot more information on the guy than the government ever will. Facebook is giving up your rights voluntarily, but Amazon, and your “financial institutions” are mining data, just like all ISP folks, with your “I agree” check box you must check to get service.

First of all,, what is needed is to be able to define just what is personal information, or even personal privacy. For instance, I do order fairly frequently from Amazon. So if they wish me to continue to do so then they will not be indiscriminately giving out any private information that I make available to them so that I can order from them.
Perhaps to my loss, I am not on any of the social networks (heck, I am not even a PRO member here). So, I have done all that I can do to protect my own privacy. But, if I wish to live relatively inexpensively and still conveniently in toady’s world I must realize that my own private information may not actually be so private anymore. As I stated, I am not engaged in any criminal activities that I even know of (and if occasionally viewing what some might consider inappropriate sites on the internet, were a crime, then the internet would for all practical uses, cease to exist!) I do not worry about any governmental agency taking any real interest in any of my internet viewing habits (unless the powers that be really want to be bored to death). And I do not know of anyone else in my limited group of family and friends that is nearly as worried about losing their so called freedoms as some on this site seem to be. And for all practical purposes (except for President Obama and federal governmental bashing) I think this whole thing is some kind of a tempest in a tea party pot (pun intended)!!
