Amazing how heartless some of our commenters are, ain’t it?

Seems quite plausible. Is it possible to assess IP address or some other more permanent identifying information to see if you’re right.

Ah, your lack of self awareness in the wake of my original comment is palpable.

If one were to reverse your statement, of what one be accused of? And what should one read into your bigotry against Arabs? What is this phobia called?

Just a historical note for all the “Jesus freaK”, holier than thou Hypo-Christians on the site: It was the kindly Christian crusaders who slaughtered every man, woman, child, goat, sheep, and rat when taking Jerusalem. It was the Muslims who let those same crusaders leave allive, with their concubines et al when they were driven out.

As vile as all the bible religions can be, it is the Muslims who’ve actually shown more of the “milk of human kindness”, and the Jews and Christians who’ve shed far more blood, and that even includes the atrocity known as “the Holocaust” where the kind relligious Nazis killed over 13 million in the camps, including the tragic annhialation of six million Jews who were NOT the sole victims. Which, btw, over 51 million died in WW II. In Viet Nam we lost over 58,000 on a fool’s errand against a nation that lost over a million of their own, and they STILL “won”.

Which, my ultra-right wing, actual best friend for nearly 50 years now, asked last week why I was “anit-Semetic”. I pointed out I had nothing agiainst Arabs in particular, or their tribal mates the Jews, among other “Semites”. I also ran through some history as to why I don’t like RADICALS, like Likud, OR Hezbolla et al on the Muslim side. He noted surprise that I knew so much of the history, and actually based my views on knowlledge. Perhaps most disturbing was his typical “right wing” statement: “You probably know more about the situation than all but a few in America, BUT I DON’T WANT TO HAVE THAT MUCH INFORMATION TO MAKE MY MIND UP. IT JUST CONFUSES ME!”

The toon brings up an obvious reference to the killing fields of Cambodia, and Pol Pot, and the Egyptians still have a long way to go to play “catch up” with that. But we, with our actions in Afghanistan and Iraq, are much closer to Pol Pot, than they.

I love my country, and have defended it, as has my son. We now “sponge” off those chickenhawks who never served, as we’re both disabled veterans of combat.

Like Likud and Hezholla, among other hate groups in the world, recent events have made me ashamed of some of my fellow citizens, and the actions of many of our leaders, but still not those in my nation who care about truth, justice, or preservation of not only OUR way of life, but others in the world as well.

Arrogance, and hate tied to xenophobia, are NOT “patriotism”, even when considering our hegemony our "sacred right and privilege’.
