Look at comics from fifty years ago. The dad has his face buried in the paper. People have ignored other people forever – now we just have new vehicles for it.

It’s an epidemic.I saw its beginning when I went to Walmart’s to do my shopping, and saw many people walking around holding the first mobile phones to their ears. It is an addiction IMO.-(comics 50 years ago showed Dad after supper after a long day on the job, catching up on news by reading the newspaper) -Better family situation….Mom doing her job in the home, dressing and feeding her husband and kids…the bills get paid because they didn’t try to buy every new thing in the ads…..spending time at the table and in the home. Few of those homes created the high divorce rate, or produced kids that drank or doped and joined the criminal class of society. Church on Sunday helped create that Home, an Ark of Safety in a Friendly Neighborhood.

@neo (still wet behind your ears?)No. Back in the 1950s when men and women and society’s leaders knew their proper place in God’s Plan for a better life on earth! And taught their children by example.-What do you like about the “liberated society”?The divorce rate? The 55 million murders of the pre-born American taxpayers? The Drug Wars? The runaway teens from bad homes who end up being human slaves? The evident increase in violence? An actual 15% unemployment, partly due to women taking jobs men used to have? The worthlessness today of an expensive college “education”?The numbers of suicides of all ages? -The Family I described had Faith and Hope for the future, and security in the present. Trust in God is good for anyone.

Barefoot and pregnant was the “bible version” of women’s roles, and some with retarded social development due to excess exposure to “religions” , be it extremist Christianity, Judaism, or Islam, (and some “non-bible” religions as well) still profess said limits on women.

As to the TV, btw, researchers have proven that exposure to the tube by toddlers under two years old, causes actual brain damage, irreversible. That explains some of the addictions of the “youth” of today, as well as some older folks.

dtroutma said, 1 day ago “Barefoot and pregnant was the “bible version” of women’s roles, and some with retarded social development due to excess exposure to “religions”…..”-More careful reading of the New Testament (and even examples of women who excelled in traditional “men’s” professions in the Old Testament)…shows that in Jesus’ daywomen were respected by Judaism and God inspired the Jerusalem Assembly leaders and writers of scriptures, to elevate the status of women, in the church as “equal before God”, and many well-to-do women supported believers during the persecution of followers of Christ.-The Godly teachings raised women to be protected and men were commanded to “love” and take care of wives and children. The example was Jesus’ love for the “Bride” which is the N.T. Church, such great agape love that Jesus died for her.-Just because some who spoke over the centuries for Christianity, who failed to be loyal to scriptures, taught errors, you should not pick and choose the reported abnormal ideas, just to buttress your hatred for God’s Bible.

dt: you seem to read your bible as selectively, ignoring major points and facts with as much regularity as you do folks’ posts here. You always miss that I repeatedly say “radical”, or “extremists”, which you are actually among, when referring to the evil done in the name of the “Book of Hate”, which contains far more violence than kindness, even from Jesus. The Revelations is of course the ultimate statement of hatred for all who are not “Christian”, and the fact that John may have been on mushrooms or PCP when writing it, is fairly clear.
