Perhaps because Greg Evans doesn’t know, either?

Luann MUST be growing up, she doesn’t seem to be upset over being left out of the road trip at ALL

Of course, the trip WAS a disaster, so, maybe she feels like she was better off, not being there

Of course, Bernice HAS no boy to have issues over. So she can be smug over someone else’s problems…. of course, until Bernice realizes she Has no boy…^^Unless Zane comes back to Pitts, then, anything could happen

Well, I guess Bernice didn’t learn anything from Ms. Phelps during her interview in May, because she’s still being oh-so-smug about how she can be “better” than her.

Bernice seems to be feeling pretty smug right now. But she’s really no more (or less) than the flip side of Luann. Both exhibit typically over-the-top teen emotions and behaviors.

MJ:I don’t think that Luann would be too upset about missing a road trip all the way to Pitts High- she has experienced the location for over 9 years…

After a decade+(?) It appears that the new directions for the major characters in Luann are all officially in place. Luann is not Brad chasing after girls with TJ or whatever else could happen if the strip was kept in stability mode. Evans has done a good job of keeping everything a question mark for the arcs at this point and keeping us guessing. As for Quill, if Karen’s preview is accurate then it appears that Luann is going Down Under for winter- maybe MJ will have to skip that arc- and that would suggest that Quill’s request to go abroad was denied. The all’s well with the world tone of the strip is sometimes an indication of trouble lerking in the future. But who knows at this point? But regardless of my past analysis of the strip, it’s good to have movement for all the main arcs in the strip.

I guess we are seeing the combination of 2 themes coming out in the strip. For some it is like adult like child humor mode- Frank-Nancy/Brad-Toni, Bern/Phelps, maybe TJ/Father and for others it is dealing with awkwardness mode.

Ok, nothing much to say at this point on Luann until the arcs start moving more…

Iam:I guess today’s advise would be sponsored by the Prune association for California. In fact Phelps probably has their product line in the school vending machines…

School counselors handle many more issues than academics. They deal with abused kids, kids whose families are homeless, kids who are neglected, kids who are conduct problems, kids whose families can’t afford food, kids who might be college material but there’s no money to help them, etc.

What I find so interesting about Luann is her faith that people she cares about also care about her. It would probably never occur to her to even think that her ‘friends’ were happy that she wasn’t with them on a trip and were making fun of her. Similarly, in today’s strip, Delta and Bernice are probably being sarcastic in response to Lu’s comment about Phelps not caring about an issue important to Luann — but she probably takes her ‘friends’ comments to be genuine, rather than snarky

Actually, eat more fiber IS the answer.More fiber produces more gas.More gas should drive away any boys with a sense of smell. The object WAS to get rid of boys, wasn’t it?

Levi, Bernice looks so happy lately. Do you find this attractive or offputting?*Will Bern have access to the files on IQ test results? Juvenile crime reports? Dysfunctional family problems? If not, she might just be the “Intern in charge of boy problems”.

Or how much per-student time counselors have. Boy problems (unless it’s an abusive relationship) are waaaay down on the list. Anyway, they are academic, not psychological counselors. The districts have psychs on staff.

I’m willing to bet Bernice will come out of this actually realizing that the school counselor was really good after all.
