“We need to protect the natural systems that provide clean water, oxygen, food, storm and erosion protection, natural products, natural resources, and varied natural genetic stocks, because we DEPEND on them for survival. We are to blame if we fail to be good stewards of a unique, solitary, irreplaceable Earth.”
Yes. Seems like a rational approach to me, but I’m usually called ‘extremist’ when I express it.
Have they redefined the term ‘extremist’, too? Must have, I suppose – for all the ‘green’ talk I hear, looks to me like heavy industry has a free hand …
Well, it’s what I expected. Trash what you don’t know. I guess you just believe what you’re told to believe. Don’t ask questions…they like you ignorant…You’re not the ventriloquist, you’re the dummy.
My job depends on fracking. Pretty hard to be morally opposed to that which pays my bills.-——-I understand your point. I moved to Mexico in 2006, when intervention with the Mexican military began against the drug cartels. My job depends upon the success of the Zetas. Or is it La Familia? Or the Sinaloa Cartel? Or Knights Templar? Oh, no matter. I’ve changed employers so many times, they all seem the same in the end. But the main point is that I have to pledge allegiance to the drug trade, because that’s what pays my bills!
“It will create jobs” is to conservative economics what “think of the children” is to conservative morality; it is a sophism used to justify anything.
Up hare, a pipeline was just approved and they say it will create jobs. Okay, you need people to build the pipe, but after that, how many people do you need to watch a GD’ed giant pipe???

I thought at first this might have something to do with the upcoming (August 16th) release of the movie “Jobs” (with Ashton Kutcher). I guess not.
