America’s “News” is AWOL on many important stories they should report to the public.-my search today found only 3 sources of Minimum reporting on the Army Ft. Hood trial of the admitted shooter of 11/5/09.www.suntimes.com/newswww.usatoday.com (one very short article)cnsnews.com/commentary….3 pages on “3 Forgotten Facts..”-IMO, in the Court of Public Opinion, not only does the US-born Muslim, Army Major Hasan, deserve “Guilty” (why was a “trial” necessary?)…but Army brass and Pentagon brass deserve “dereliction of duty” judgment of “Guilty”.President Obama and DOJ Holder deserve malfeasance and dereliction of duty by demanding a trial, by labeling a violent Jihadist attack on unarmed military people as “workplace violence”…-preventing victims and families from full medical care (families are having to pay by personal funds) and keeping deserving heroes from military recognition in actions to protect others during the attack.-13 military dead plus one preborn baby dead and 32 injured.-Major Hasan gave his plan openly in a 2007 "Power Point presentation to fellow Army doctors….ending “We (Muslims)love death more than you love life”…Major Hasan carried a card “SoA” (Soldier of Allah") and “Subhanahu Wa ta’ala”(Islamic for “Glory to Him, the Exalted”.-In his self-defense Hasan claims to be an Islamic soldier in the war to make this land (America) the land of Allah.-With Islamic apologists and cover-ups throughout our Executive branch and at the top in the Pentagon….isn’t that 100% fitting the category of Treason?

Actually, Hasan tried to plead guilty a bit back.[]Thing is, there’s a quirk in the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) that prevents people from pleading guilty to capital crimes.

@neocon…..Hasan pled GUILTY from the beginning.He was armed with weaponS and much ammo in a deployment center where no one was allowed to be armed.He would have kept reloading and continued firing at innocent victims but a civilian police person ran in and shot him in the leg, another person came in and fired 5 shots to get Hasan to stop shooting, preventing further murders.-Obama and Holder may “know the constitution” but they have been deliberately violating the clear wording of the Constitution from day one of their regime.-Maybe the UCMJ ban on pleas of “guilty” to capital crimes was the reason the administration did not find some excuse to put the trial in a civilian court?

Of course they were rejected.[]Hasan tried to go “defense of others” on the basis that he was defending The Taliban; such a defense would have taken his trial from “murder” to “treason”.

I saw an interesting article on Hasan in my local Sunday paper. The reason this is taking so long is that, once he is most certainly found guilty, he will start the appeals process. The burden of proof is great enough that the prosecution wants to ensure that no part of the investigation or court proceedings can be questioned. Even the wording of the judge’s instructions to the jury can throw the entire case out, and they have no intention of allowing that to happen.

Besides, he’s in jail, and there’s no possibility of him going free until after his trial, conviction, and appeal, so the people who want him convicted without trial should be happy.

I’ve always read that the comics and editorial art are the most consistently read areas of any paper. Ironically, although I mourn the loss of paper printed editorials and news stories from the local big-city papers, I am happy to see the comics on-line. I see all my old favorites consistently and have found new, interesting ones (whether or not I agree with them).

I always find it interesting, and quite sad, that most of those on these posts who rabidly defend the Constitution are the first to throw someone under the bus without Constitutional guarantees.

In this case, though, the murders represented the act of treason, as he was killing his fellow soldiers in the name of the Taliban.
