It doesn’t seem like the sequester did much of anything to the economy. It was more like a trim of the fingernails.I have yet to see the doom and gloom predicted by Obama even in the DC area.
So an example of gubbermint waste was shutting down airports? Cut funding for cancer treatments? Cut funding for food inspections (which is why we have that salad problem at Red Lobster)? That’s gubbermint waste? This is the reason why Toles drew this spot on toon!
That must be why in the 2nd term of Obama our economy is in such robust shape… oh wait it isn’t..Wait, I know let’s all drink the Kool Aid blame republicans and pray to Obama!
Are you saying that only people who think as you do should be allowed to vote? I think that’s been tried in a number of places throughout history. Edmund Burke’s famous quote about disagreeing with one’s position but defending to the death his right to express it comes to mind.
Bush did not blow the projected surplus? He could have used his veto, but didn’t. In fact, he encouraged Congress to take that projected surplus and drain the reservoir. Then harangued Congress into financing two wars on the if/come (If you’re not with us, you’re against us). And no chicken-S*** who was worried about reelection would dare be caught looking like a dove. And the Iraq war would be paid for by oil; profits. And there is no evidence of Sunni/Shia hatred (Nicholas Kristoff). You need to go back on your meds!

The good news is that some of the hardliners might sit out next election because they think the Teabagger Republicans aren’t nutty enough.

I don’t think companies reducing people’s hours to part-time and not hiring new people is a scare tactic. It’s a sad result.

Shouldn’t the headline read, “Goverment Inaction,” instead of “Distraction?”

You’ve got to admit, Obama IS showing us how he can penalize us for not giving him all of the cash that he wants.

The main distraction is the absence of leadership.
