How odd that the people who whine the loudest about government waste don’t seem to care that the House has barely done any work this year to justify the salaries they get paid.
In 1974, fewer than 4% of those leaving congress sought jobs in lobbying firms. That number has gone up to 50%.Once gone from Congress, those serving more than a specific number of years get a pension and generous healthcare benefits which are protected by law.Congress is protected from laws regarding insider trading, even tho they can pass legislation that will have effects on stocks from which they profit. In 2010, a report stated that the average stock market investor makes around 3% a year from investments while the ‘average’ congressman made over 12%. They are over payed, under regulated, and against the wishes of the original signatories of the Constitution, career politicians. They are a two party, cannibalistic oligarchy led by monied interest in and out of the capital building and they are weakening and dividing our nation in a way that is hard to see as anything other than deliberate.Respectfully,C.
Obama has done NOTHING to destroy America. It’s the GOP congress that has cut deeply into our investment in roads, education, jobs, and the economy; and refuses to regulate dangerous industries. The tea party, by this point, has done more actual, measurable damage to America than Al Qaeda ever dreamed of. You can’t have a strong country without a functioning government.
‘Why don’t we have term limits on these people? It would be a good start!’-Some years ago Washington state passed term limits. The law was struck down by the Supreme Court.

One of the differences is that on the left, Obama can make appointments to vacant seats and get the people’s work done.

“They’re doing just what I want….. Stropping Obama’s destruction of America.”
That’s right. Only Congress should be able to destroy America. How dare Mr. Obama try to usurp their power?
