Good morning, Vagabonds. Yesterday, my Turkish-Azeri friend and me went to Riverside Park in Manhattan for a special Jewish New Year ceremony: Tashich (in Hebrew “to throw”). We throw bread into the Hudson River to symbolize the throwing of last year’s sins and starting the new year on a better footing. There was quite a crowd there. My rabbi blew a shofar (ram’s horn) after reciting a prayer.
A friend who uses his rollator more often than I use mine came along and we found the paths and steps leading to the water’s edge challenging. Two photos of me throwing my “sins” away are on my Facebook.
Today we are invited to a party in Queens at sundown.
Was cool by the lake at our card game, most of us had jackets on. Went into the 40’s last nite. Going back to the 80’s this next week. Lost both games $1.50 but had great laughs and conversation.
Will be going to a car show this aft. with a friend and his1956 Chevy.
Sat. Have a birthday party to go to for my brother in lawsfather, turning 90 whew!!
Good afternoon Vagabond..Been one-o-them days with this hunk a junk of a computer, got more bugs in it then a nest of insects..Well I had one day of no pop ups at least, guess I confused them for a while..Been a nice day cooler. dryer, more comfortable..Got Roy Rogers on the DVD, so catch I’ll you all tomorrow..ttfn
