The quote I heard originally was this: We are as gods, so we might as well get good at it (Meaning our power)…..

Here’s the original quote: " Men have become like gods. Isn’t it about time that we understood our divinity? Science offers us total mastery over our environment and over our destiny, yet instead of rejoicing we feel deeply afraid. Why should this be? How might these fears be resolved?"

    British anthropologist Edmond Leach,

Cut to reality, we have more power than any gods ever imagined….We should use all of our wonderful powers to do what is kind….That’s all….

salinasong, thanks…I’ve often wondered why nature is male and female, almost always, but there is only a male god? Doesn’t make sense to me…Turns out, the earliest Christian “cults” believed in a dual deity, but then Roman men nipped that one in the bud at the council of Nicaea…(325)….

The Gods: “It’s not like we want you guys to be giving us your trash like this. But, these bankers are stupid enough to be including their PINs in their wallets next to their debit cards. So, yeah, cool. Throw us another couple when you got some free time.”

Measure the banker, first. Make sure he isn’t too plump so he plugs up the hole like a cork. An added benefit: he probably has several politicians in his pocket, so you get to sacrifice them, too.

Never understood the “right’s” objection to the ACLU. If there is one constant and long-time advocate for the preservation of the Constitution and the Rights enshrined in it and the Bill of Rights, they are it. I guess it is just a matter of they have the misguided mission of advocating for all of those rights, not just the ones in vogue with current conservative “thought”.

I’m not so sure there was ever a time when the US was seen as a force for good all over the world. There’s always been someone who’s hated the US and as a country, the government has always abused it’s powers somewhere. I don’t think this is singular to the US – I think this is how it goes for all powerful nations.

I say yes! With virgins rapidly becoming an endangered species, it would only make sense to start sacrificing bankers instead. Even if you don’t get your wish, you still have one less banker. A win-win situation.
