Maybe he does but we just haven’t seen it. (There is some Walter Mitty in everyone.)

Ghost peppers. Habaneros if you want a cooler sensation. Jalapeno cornbread is for wimps only.

Anyone else notice that there are 5 pieces in the first panel and 4 in the second? Nice attention to detail there Pat and Don.

There’s a “Carroll Shelby” brand cornbread mix that has peppers in it. That’s what we call Okie-Tex-Mex fusion cuisine… ;^)

Rose should have let the cornbread cool a bit before she put it out there. :o)

Jimbo saw Vicki before she appeared, hence his exclamation.

I’ve never played with chilis much; I use cayenne a lot in many dishes and ginger, hot mustard powders and horseradish, but not peppers. I like subtle mixes of flavors.

This recipe may be new to Rose, or she would have warned Jimbo (as the loving wife that she is).

@Gokie5, It was “an ironic funny”, as you put it.When I get a Subway grinder, I always say “everything but jalapenos”!

Me, too. I think jalapeno actually tastes better than habanero, but hab is spicier, so it’s tit for tat.

Yup, Jalapeno cornbread with some Bahia Habanero sauce mixed in, cooked in an iron skillet and served with a good hot chili is really great! Add the wife for company and some cold Yuengling from my keg and oh yea, life is good.
