What is he lying about?I personally blame Detroit’s politicians, the CEOs of companies who abandoned Detroit, & the unions who failed to compromise with companies as well as the citizens who elected the politicians in Detroit. Not sure where Romney fits into this. However, is Radish lying, or is he simply not covering the bases you want covered? “Your kind”? “Lie”? Not a civil way to debate an issue.curiously,C.

Shouldn’t Bankrupt be on the left and Full on the right? Just like in politics.

Consumer Reports just named the new Chevy Impala the best car on the market, but as “Play one” notes, CR has never cared much about handling of vehicles, as opposed to legroom, and car seat attachments. BTW, what is the actual U.S. made content of the Chevy Impala??? How much built in Detroit? right, it’s all the unions fault.

Saw what his comment, Farmer.Just didn’t understand it since, as I noted, I was unaware there were car factories still in the Detroit. I wondered if Mr. Romney had suggested that cities should be allowed to go bankrupt as well. The attacks on Pension funds nationwide may make cities and towns more solvent, but what it is going to do to our retirees is a nightmare.@ Molon Labe – “The only thing worse than a lie is a lie spoken as truth.” I don’t know the source of the quote, but it falls in line with your own statement and I agree. I also agree that the people in power failed to be longsighted and in their hubris made decisions with the assumption the car industry would ALWAYS be in Detroit and the money would ALWAYS flow. Our nation is filled with short sighted politicians of both parties. And if your party was in total control in all fifty states and D.C., it might not have the consequences for our nation that you want. I know I would dislike it if the Dems had total control since I don’t trust that half of the oligarchy either.^On a separate note…Scott Rigell, R-(VA) in the DC House of Reps & Mark Warner, D-(VA) US Senator, are calling on Congress to forgo their month long holiday and get some legislation done.Mr. Rigell’s office is also very good at replying to my emails. I hope this behavior won’t cause the RNC to decide not to help him in the next election. His party was very upset with him for standing next to Mr. Obama at an event at the Newport News Shipyard. I think I found a Republican I can vote for again.Thank you to everyone who tried to enlighten me. I can be dense and have found when I make assumptions I usually go the wrong way with them. Respectfully,C.

If the u.s. automakers would have kept ahead of the curve years ago they would have been fine. Instead, thinking they had a birthright to American consumers, it was left to automakers from other countries to innovate and they took the market.Even in the face of all of this, the unions only demanded more, without thought of what the auto industry needed to do to save itself.
