Pop’s leaving out the part about Count Von Gore having such horrible gas that Pop and the referee both fled the ring, leaving the Count the winner.

Pops is literally talking out of his a$$ in P3.

I wonder when this uber-boring storyline is gonna end?

I’m holding out for the handicap match pitting Gramps against Carl Peake and Wildcat Maris at the Milford Armory. The legendary tag team of Count Chocula and Frankenberry can be on the undercard.

Kind of looks like the back of Gil’s and Harry’s pant have been stitched together there in P3. Now that’s going to be tough to explain to Mimi.

One could just write in P2: “A republic ma’am, if you can keep it.”

Well time to wander around town telling more wrestling stories until it’s time to head back to Subwich for dinner.

Can’t we switch to soccer or the chess team, or barn painting to make things more interesting? Seems like a long drawn out put down of old people with mental illnesses.

Gil to Pops – “I don’t caaaaaaare. My wife is being serviced by our pool boy. Can I please go home and use some of my old wrestling moves on him?”

I’d pay to see that match.

…a pointless, meandering story line….and not in the “good” sense that we like! We need more character follow up, for example: is Ransom still in town? where is Moon? Coach Glory? Brody Abro?I figure by now Wildcat Maris and Jon Jawor have fired Gil from Milford CC because he is stroking his patronage job….you have to show up once in awhile, Gil!

I find this strip totally frustrating. After reading and looking at it everyday for several months, I still can’t figure out who is who! The only reason I keep it on my list is the very high quality drawing/art work.

Yeah, good ol’ Haystack Calhoun and his horseshoe on a chain around his neck — opponents had to watch out for that.

Gosh, I’m glad bringing up Haystacks Calhoun’s name yesterday jogged some memories, which is about all this plot is good for lately. I saw Haystacks wrestle the Von Brauners(Kurt and Karl, with their manager Saul Weinstein) on a Friday night, and Bob Dylan the next night in the same building. The same Hell’s Angel’s had the first two rows for both shows. I forget what Gil was doing in 1965, but he was probably coaching, instead of being a tour guide.
