Danziger’s the most hateful liberal elitist cartoonist here. If you sympathize with him, thinking, “what’s the matter? They ARE a bunch of hillbillies!”, then you’re as hateful as he is.

Howdy, I am proud to be a “Hillbilly”. Grey matter is not apportioned according to where you are born. The sad thing is the ‘toon is accurate as to who votes for McConnell. The poorest and most helpless voters believe McConnell is the best hope they have. They wouldn’t vote for a liberal for fear the liberal would take their squirrel gun away from them.

While I may not always agree with Danziger, I must admit to always admiring the artistry of his work. The man (at least I think that Danziger is male from other comments on this site) IS a truly terrific artist!!

Coupla things that don’t ring true – we’uns don’t say “Yew” – that’s Midwest – in the mountains it’s “Ye” (still in the 17th century dontcha know) … and the kid WOULD be using Copenhagen, not smoking a corncob pipe (the granny would be smoking the pipe) – for real….. I knew a local family where the 6-year-old used snuff. And would be riding a miniature ATV.When the world ends, I want to be in Ky, ‘cause they’re always 20 years behind.
The USA has about the same average life expectancy as Bosnia and Jordan. It ranks 40th in the world. This might have something to do with the quality of it’s health care system. It also ranks 33rd for infant mortality probably for the same reason. In the rest of the G8 poor hillbillies would not be left out.
