As a caucasian I think that no matter how open-minded we feel we are, we all do, think and/or say things that are racist. And I try my best every day to care for my fellow human beings as i would want to be treated – but I fail. I know I do. I hope I don’t do it out of fear or hate, but rather out of a lack of understanding.
As I understand it, these strips are written weeks in advance. That suggests that this strip was written while the Martin/Zimmerman case was being aggressively framed as a case concerning a racist murder, and before the administration and the press were exposed for trying to take political advantage of a case of self-defense. Bentley just got caught up in the hype and politics. Maybe in a couple of weeks we will see a return to entertainment here.
Racism exists, but it did not exist in the GZ/TM case until the media created it. That is why NBC is getting sued and they fired 3 people.People want to kill GZ for being what the Media created.I think we should be angry at being manipulated.I fell for the picture of that little boy they said was TM. Once I found out it was a baby picture I at least had the good sense to step back.
This has nothing to do with Zimmerman or the trial. This is more along the lines of racism he himself may of encountered in his life. for those of you that thinik this is all about that you are wrong and it goes both ways just like a while back he showed the strip where Herb punched a guy over the thought of the customer possibly saying the N word. It was his way of showing how black people make the mistake in thinking someone may make a racist comment.
Night-Gaunt they will always harp and use the latest flashpoint to think that everyone is being over sensitive. This country need to wake up to the simple facts racism does exist and all races have been subjected to some form of it. America is home the largest POW camp in the world in all th Indian reservations. They forget how they concentration camps for the Japanese-American after the WWII bombing of Pearl Harbor. For those that keep thinking this is about Zimmerman/Trayvon it is more likely stemming for his own life and things he has went through.
